Privacy Policy — Oro Cosmetology Exam Prep
Last updated: June 20, 2026
Summary
This app helps you study for your state's cosmetology written exam. It is offline-first and does not require an account. We do not sell your personal information. Your study progress is stored on your device. We use a small amount of anonymous analytics and crash reporting to make the app better.
Who we are
This app is published by Binary Hands. Contact: cosmetology@binaryhands.com.
What we collect
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Your answers, scores, progress, and settings | To show your readiness and review your missed questions | On your device only (local database). Not uploaded to us. |
| Anonymous usage events (e.g., screen opened, diagnostic completed, purchase) | To understand which features help users pass, and to fix drop-off | Aggregated analytics (Firebase Analytics). No name, email, or contact info. |
| Crash reports (device model, OS version, error stack) | To find and fix crashes | Crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics) |
| Purchase status (whether you unlocked the full app) | To unlock paid content and restore it on your devices | Verified by Apple. A local flag mirrors it. |
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, photos, contacts, or location. We do not show third-party ads. We do not sell or rent your data.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is processed by Apple (StoreKit). We never see your full payment details, the App Store handles the transaction. "Restore Purchases" re-checks your App Store account so your unlock works on your other devices.
Children's privacy
The app is intended for exam candidates (generally adults). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your choices
- Because progress is stored only on your device, deleting the app removes that data.
- You can opt out of analytics collection in your device settings where applicable.
- To ask a question about your data, email cosmetology@binaryhands.com.
Third-party services
- Apple App Store — purchases and app distribution.
- Google Firebase — anonymous analytics and crash reporting. See Google's privacy policy.

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change. Material changes will be noted in the app or on the listing.
