Ghost Detector: Real EMF Meter

Ghost Detector: Real EMF Meter

A real magnetometer EMF reader. The fiction is labelled.

Coming soonFree with ads. $2.99 to remove them.Android

The Field dial is a real EMF meter built on your phone's magnetometer. Zero it to the room you are in, then watch how far the local magnetic field moves from that zero, in microtesla, with peak-hold. The radar and the whispers are seeded randomness, and the app says so. No microphone, no camera, no location. For entertainment purposes only.

What is inside

Field: a real EMF reading from your phone's magnetometer, live, in microtesla
A zero you set with one tap and the app holds, so the dial does not quietly walk it away
Peak-hold keeps the biggest change of the session, so a moment you missed is still on the dial
Radar: a sweep with blips drawn from seeded randomness, each carrying a motif label
Whispers: one-line readings drawn on your phone from a finite deck we wrote
A journal for saved encounters, kept on the device, with a share card that says what it is
No runtime permissions: no microphone, no camera, no location
How It Works, inside the app, explains the whole trick

Questions

Is the EMF meter real?

Yes. Field reads your phone's magnetometer, the same sensor a compass uses, and shows how far the local magnetic field has moved from a zero you set, in microtesla. Two phones in the same room will broadly agree about it. Hold it near a speaker or a fridge door and watch.

Does it detect ghosts?

No. Ghost Detector is a fictional instrument and is for entertainment purposes only. The radar and the whispers are mostly random, and the app's own How It Works screen explains exactly how they are drawn.

What does zeroing do?

It tells the app to call whatever this room reads right now silence. After that the dial only moves when the magnetic field around you changes. A zero more than six hours old is discarded rather than reused, because a zero from another building would be a lie.

What permissions does it need?

None at runtime. The app never asks you for a permission. Its manifest declares internet access and the Android advertising ID permission, both for ads. No microphone, no camera, no location.

How do I remove the ads?

There is one in-app purchase, $2.99 once, on the home screen. It removes the banner and the interstitials. On a new device, use Restore on the same screen.

Where do my journal entries live?

On your phone. The app never uploads them, and uninstalling the app removes them.

Ghost Detector is a fictional instrument and is for entertainment purposes only. It does not find, prove, or measure anything paranormal, and nothing in it is a scientific claim. The Field dial is a real magnetometer reading; the radar and the whispers are mostly random.
